The idea for The Run Method Studio came to life on a run when our founder Emma and her husband Garrett first articulated their vision to create something meaningful together. Running has been part of their lifestyle since they met in college, and it was only fitting that their fitness endeavor be grounded in the activity they both loved the most.

At The Run Method Studio, we believe the benefits of running transcend into everything we do. Whether you are looking to move your body or clear your mind, training for your next marathon or your first 5k, the decision to step out for a run takes discipline, commitment, and sometimes a little bit of preparation. The run itself forces us to practice endurance, patience, perseverance, and having those tough conversations with ourselves. And the accomplished feeling we get once we’ve completed a run builds pride, confidence, and the inner belief that we can do hard things. These are skills that make us better people and help us to get ahead in both our personal and professional lives.

Pilates is also an important component of the Run Method approach. We view it as a form of movement that sculpts more than just our muscles, but our minds as well. The time we spend on our mats practicing intentional movement serves a key purpose - muscle memory. We develop proper alignment, core stabilization, and muscle activation, which translates into strong and injury free running.

As a 7x Marathon Runner and certified Pilates and Running Coach, Emma created the Run Method out of a need for a single class that offered both running and Pilates. She wanted to wake up each morning and move in a way that made her body and mind feel strong. After taking time to fine tune the method, we cannot wait to cultivate The Run Method Studio community. Emma believes that you don’t have to be a runner to join us on the tread - sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone is just what you need to progress towards the greatest version of you.
